May 30-day Challenge: AI
Yes, AI is going to change the world. However, to benefit personally and professionally requires habit formation, which I have found difficult to date. So this month, I go at it full bore.
April's 30-day challenge was a success. Honestly, I'm somewhat embarrassed about how many important goals got stuck in the "Someday I'll get around to this" category.
However, I put my head down, prioritized the time, and pulled many of them (kicking and screaming) to the finish line. This list is lengthy: my book, a yard project, a landscaping repair, a patent application, a few health changes, a tort claim, etc. All of them are either one huge step forward or 100% complete.
In May, I switch to AI tools.
I've had many false starts here, which is annoying because I can see the power of AI. I liken it to developing a mastery of search engines in the early 2000s. Those who took the time to learn how to use them effectively experienced massive gains in productivity and creativity. It was a huge unlock.
Unfortunately, AI hasn't come naturally to me. Because I already have my go-to ways to solve problems, I don't (yet) have the intuition of the right tool for the job or the muscle memory to go there first.
For this month, my task is simple: Spend 30 minutes daily using ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other AI co-pilot solutions. However, I have to go beyond casual usage. I want to explore plugins and integrations to get a few big wins. If that happens, the motivation to keep going will reinforce the habit formation loop.
I can't wait to share my results next month.
